Swedish international forces in the service of peace - international missions undertaken by the Swedish Armed Forces

Swedish International Forces in the service of peace presents the international peace-support operations (PSO) in which Sweden has taken part through the Swedish Armed Forces. Together with the accompanying film, this book adds up to a historical document, resulting from the firsts comprehensive documentation of the subject ever taken.

A number of interviews in both the book and film convey insights into both previos and ongoing operations. UN veterans describe their experiences from the Suez crisis of the 50s, combat in the Congo during the 69s, drama in the Middle East during the 70s and 80s, the consequences of ethnic cleansing in the Balkan wars of the 90s, and much else besides. More recent PSO are also included.

Finally, the fact-laden reference section of the book shows all PSO where Sweden's participation has been organised by the Swedish Armed Forces. Something like 100,000 Swedes have served with the Swedish International Forces on a total of 120 missions in 60 countries over the years.
